Acer Aspire One Netbook Reviews

Acer, makers of the Acer Aspire One series of Netbook computers is a huge multinational Taiwan base electronics company, founded in 1976, and the third largest manufacturer of computers in the world trailing only Dell and HP.

Acer is probably known best for its laptops and notebooks but has not been slow to enter the market with its hugely successful 'Aspire One' series of Netbooks.

It's first entry into the Netbook world was the A110 which inherited the primary feature that makes its other computers stand out which is mainly value for money.

You can be sure that Acer will continue to lead the way in value for money in the low to medium price ranges of the Netbook market. If you need a Netbook and value is your primary concern then an Acer Netbook is going to be somewhere on your final list of candidates.

Aspire One A110/A150

The A110 and A150 were Acer's first Netbook computers. Great value with a good feature set but let down by short battery life they are still a great choice if cost is your primary concern.

Aspire One D150

The D150 series is a significant step up from the A110 and A150 in functionality but not necessarily in price. With 10.1 inch screens, much improved battery life on many models and more connectivity options you would expect a big price hike but Acer has kept the increases to a minimum, one again showing that they continue to lead in the value for money race.

Aspire One D250

It's hard to tell the difference between the Aspire One D150 and D250 on first looks. Even Acer's own product pages don't make it obvious. The D250 has a slightly updated processor and is housed in a slimmer package than the D150 but from an everyday performance point of view there is little to choose between them. So if you were going to get a D150 and you can get the D250 cheaper then get a D250 and vice versa.

Aspire One P531, D531, Pro 531

Good grief Acer, make your mind up with the name. The 531's are supposedly 'pro' level machines but this seems more marketing than reality as there is not a whole lot different to the other current models. With a higher price tag, smaller keyboard and poorer battery life the 531 models have little going for them. If you want an Acer pick from the D150/D250 and if your not focused on one brand then check out the offerings from the other suppliers.

Aspire One A110 and A150 - The first Acer Netbook, 8.9 inch screens, SSD and Harddisk Models you won't find cheaper.

Aspire One D150 - 10.1 inch screen, better battery options and in general much improved over the A150 but still retaining value for money.
